The bride and she looks like she could be a model...
This photogenic young lady was one of our recent brides and the weather on the beach on her wedding day was almost perfect, except it was a little bit warm. In my opinion this girl is pretty enough to be a model and we were very happy to have her as a wedding client. I was wondering if she really was a model due to the fact that she really seemed that she knew how to pose for her wedding pictures. I use Nikon cameras and lenses for our photographic sessions as I believe the quality is quite good. When you're doing wedding pictures and during the marriage ceremony you do not get a second chance to capture the moment, so it is very important and imperative to have reliable equipment. I fell in love with Nikon cameras when I was working with my photographer from a few years back as that was what she used. I was truly amazed at the sharpness of the digital images and the clarity of the hues of color that it was able to take. The blue sky can be captured in all of its glory with Nikon. |
The happy groom...
This is the happy groom on his wedding day. This wedding was held at Gulfstream Beach Park and we offer more information on the navigation button links at the top of this website or call us for more information. Nikon cameras are one of the leaders in professional photography equipment and their equipment seems to hold up to rugged use and offer quality digital images. The lenses that Nikon makes are among some of the finest in the world and are not overly priced. You can spend a lot more for lenses but I do not think the additional quality justifies the exorbitant price that some of the other lens manufacturers charge for their offerings. I always make sure that we have redundant equipment, which means we always have more than one camera available in case of equipment failure. If one camera or the lens quits working during the wedding I have another to continue the work that we start. I always liked have to cameras around my neck and take pictures during the wedding with both. This way if one of the memory card fails then I still have a backup and do not lose all the wedding pictures of the bride and groom. I do not want to tell the bride that her wedding pictures are "lost" due to my error. This has never happened and will never happen, if I can help it.

Bride and groom...
Let me explain the different types of photography that wedding photographers will use. Candid photography is the style of taking pictures of people when they're not really paying attention to what the photographer is doing. This is my favorite style of photography as I love to take pictures of people during the reception dinner after the wedding ceremony. I love to capture shots of people after they've had a few drinks and they're just plain having fun and they're all happy and enjoying themselves. When people had a few glasses of wine, or a beer or two and they get out on the dance floor that is when the fun begins. These are the pictures that I really love to get of people in their natural state. All pictures on this page taken by Robert H. Walker © |
Palm Tree wedding venue
Formal photography is what is known as the traditional style of taking pictures where people pose. Almost every single bridal party expects this type of picture taking to be performed. I love to get the bride and groom together and let them walk around the wedding venue and pick beautiful places to have their pictures taken. Gardens and country clubs always have some wonderful greenery around that makes perfect background for taking pictures. I think these are among the most romantic pictures that you can take as the bride and groom can have some spontaneity and enjoy themselves while they're playing around and having fun. Formal photography entails getting the families together for group shots. You take the bride and groom's family put them together into a group tell everyone look at the camera, smile and then you take the shot.

Close ups
Photojournalism or the photojournalistic style of photography is the art of taking pictures while capturing a story and an event. For example you catch pictures of the bride with her father walking down the aisle toward the altar and under the arch for her wedding day. Then you capture pictures of the bride and groom facing each other while the Minister looks on. You can capture them holding hands and exchanging rings after the exchange of wedding vows. The photographer would then capture the emotions of the bride and groom exchanging their first kiss as husband and wife. This would be an example of the photojournalistic style photography. |
Posed picture
Please do not think that I will neglect the bride and groom's pictures or their immediate family during my photogenic assignment. I always make sure that I have many good quality digital images of the bridal party and their respective families. I always think it's a good idea to have at least two photographers covering each event this way when you have one photographer covering the bride and groom you can have another one covering the guests. This is the bride and groom and we try to get many wonderful pictures of them before moving on to the reception.

Romantic pictures of the beach
A professional wedding photographer would be well-versed in all of these different styles of photography. During the wedding ceremony of photographer would use the photojournalistic style photography. After the wedding the photographer would use the formal photography style for the family portraits and then for the reception would come the candid photography. I personally love to give the bride and groom and their families almost all of the pictures I take. The photographers that charge by the picture and make you purchase prints tend to concentrate on taking pictures of the bride and groom and their immediate family. They tend to neglect the friends of the bride and groom. |
Blue sky as a backdrop for your wedding pictures
Photographers that charge by the print know full well that you will not be spending seven dollars for a 4 x 6 picture of coworkers and people that you do not know that just happen to be invited to your wedding. So if I take pictures of almost everybody at the wedding and I give you the disk with all the pictures you can share them with everybody. Mothers love to have pictures of their children and I like to make sure that everybody has access to the pictures that were taken during the reception.

Can you really have too much fun...?
I tend to enjoy the smaller weddings when you just have the bride and groom and the immediate family. They tend to be working people who want to enjoy themselves on their wedding day and they're almost always very happy. I really like him these types of weddings as they are the most fun. |
Ta daa
This bride really knew how to have fun and we really enjoyed working with her. I still wonder if she was a model as she knew how to strike a pose and just had a natural pretty smile. I truly understand why the groom could fall in love with such a beautiful young girl. This girl came over to the USA all the way from France to have her wedding on the beach. When I started doing weddings I was performing the marriage ceremonies and after the wedding ceremony was over I used to assist the photographer by taking pictures. I eventually bought my own camera, a Nikon, and when my wedding clients would invite me for dinner I thought I would sharpen and hone my skills as a photographer by taking candid pictures of the wedding guests. After one is taken over 50,000 pictures you gain a certain amount of experience and of course the professional photographer that I was working with would critique my pictures and explain to me what I was doing wrong in the beginning. When I first started taking pictures about 50% of the pictures I had taken were usable and would need extensive editing. After I had shot probably about 50 weddings now about 95% my pictures are usable with little or no editing. The one thing I like about outside ambient lighting but it is getting close to sunset is that all that you need is a fill-in flash and the People's pictures come out very nice. Early morning and sunrise pictures can be very spectacular and beautiful but the sun starting to break through the clouds as it comes up over the horizon. You get many different shades and hues of colors with pinks and reds well represented in the sunrise. Inside photography using the lighting inside the building and relying upon the flash of the camera is much more difficult. Fluorescent lights tend to leave the blue haze and incandescent lighting tends to give pictures a yellowish haze. When you do inside photography, like a formal wedding, you will need to do extensive editing in the computer generally. The editing of digital pictures or digital images is a very time-consuming process and that is why professional photographers charge a lot of money for their work. You could spend up to eight hours just editing the pictures that you took for 30 minutes at a wedding. Retouching of pictures is a whole other ballgame. If one was to use Photoshop and retouch one single picture it could take up to several hours just have one perfect image.
